12K HEAVY-DUTY ADJUSTABLE (CL12A)
THE GROWTH MOVE
If your car/light-truck bays are seeing heavier SUVs, ¾-ton diesels, or
weighty EVs, the 12K class is the logical step-up. The CL12A ships with
3-stage arms front and rear, three adjustable widths (11'10", 12'4", 12'10"),
and multiple column height choices to 15'8"—plus an 11'11" low-ceiling
version. Standard stack adapter kit (includes 3 in. & 6 in. extensions with
column racks); optional EV footpad kit improves reach around battery
packs. As of April 21, 2025, Challenger switched to Bucher power units that
draw on a 20-amp breaker—helpful in multi-bay retrofits.
16K HEAVY-DUTY ADJUSTABLE (CL16)
LIGHT-MEDIUM FLEET, SERVICE BODIES & COLLISION
When half-tons aren’t the ceiling—think utility bodies, municipal fleets,
Class 4/5 pickups, and many commercial EV platforms—the CL16’s
beefed-up carriage, 5 in. pulleys, and heavy cables deliver durability under
high cycle counts. Extended height options clear tall vans; low-profile
pickup pads and integrated door guards help protect finished collision
work. All capacities ship ALI Certified with a stack adapter kit (P/N 10315)
so you can reach frame rails on tall or lifted vehicles out of the crate. Fleet
installers cite its ability to cover everything from passenger cars to heavy
service trucks in one bay footprint.

CAPEX TIMING: USE 2025 SECTION 179
& BONUS DEPRECIATION
Large lifts qualify for accelerated cost
recovery if purchased and placed in service
by December 31. For tax years beginning in 2025, Section
179 lets businesses expense up to $1,250,000 of qualifying
equipment; the deduction phases out dollar-for-dollar above
$3,130,000 in total purchases. Above the limit—or by choice—
bonus depreciation remains available but steps down to 40%
in 2025 (after 60% in 2024) and 20% in 2026 under current
law. Accelerating the write-off shortens the real payback
period on productivity gear like lifts—talk with your tax pro.
QUICK TECHNICIAN REMINDERS
• Frame-contact two-posts free
the wheels—ideal for brakes,
suspension, and undercar work.
• Respect per-arm load; watch uneven
cargo/axle bias.
• Verify lift points (OEM/ALI guides) to avoid
rocker or battery damage.
• Always rest on locks before working under
a raised vehicle.
BOTTOM LINE
If you’re still running one aging 9K import to do it all, you’re leaving billable hours and safety margin on the
floor. Right-sizing into 10K/12K/16K Challenger two-posts expands the vehicles you can service, speeds spotting, reduces damage risk, and may deliver a stronger after-tax ROI if you buy before year-end. Match capacity
to your heaviest routine vehicle, confirm your slab, train your techs, and unlock more profitable hours per bay.
